When former President Donald Trump took the debate stage last week, David Muir didn't ask him a question about the assassin's bullet that grazed Trump's head on national television six weeks earlier. Neither did he ask Vice President Kamala Harris. In fact, throughout the entire two hours, neither Muir nor any of Harris' sorority girls barely mentioned one of the most dramatic moments in modern political history.
The following night, Daniel Turner, founder of Power the Future and guest of Blaze Media, put In a nutshell:
God's Hope [it] It doesn't happen to anyone, [but] If it had been the vice president or Joe Biden who was nearly killed at the event, the opening line to Trump would have been: “President Trump, six weeks ago, your opponent was nearly killed. Political violence in this country almost took her life. What would you say to her now that she survived this assassination attempt? And do you agree that political violence has reached an unreachable level and that you are partly responsible?” That would undoubtedly have been the opening question.
But they didn't say anything about that. Instead, they had Harris play the sensible adult, practically lecturing her opponent about civility and rhetoric. They didn't mention the shooting, instead talking about the January 6th riots nearly four years ago. Perhaps they decided that it wasn't about a young boy who shot a man his friends had been calling an existential threat to democracy for eight years.
First it's a conspiracy theory, then it's real, but it has nothing to do with them and they don't care.
Of course, Muir and Lindsey Davis were not acting alone. Their Democratic media colleagues were all eager to move on from this embarrassing shooting as quickly as possible. By last Thursday, the Washington Post Complain I don't believe Trump has spoken out about it yet. “Trump fuels suspicions of assassination attempt, heightens fears of further violence,” read a headline on September 12. “After initially being relatively low-key, the former president began blaming his opponents for the shootings and spreading conspiracy theories.”
Three days later the same thing happened again.
This is not just about Democrat bias. This is total fraud on the part of the American media. This is a betrayal, and it can never be fixed. These people are crazy. Trump has crushed them, and they really think they are characters in a resistance drama about the course of history. It's terrible and it's ridiculous, but it is what it is.
In September 2023, NBC ran a story entitled “Tucker Carlson Fueling Conspiracy: America is 'Rapidly' Heading to Assassinate President Trump,” by US correspondent Daniel Arkin. Tucker made the prediction “without evidence,” Arkin wrote, a phrase often used by media idiots to dismiss alternative views. Of course, 10 months later, President Trump is shot in a fatal attack. And 12 months later, a second shooter is arrested.
First it's a conspiracy theory. Then it's real, but it has nothing to do with them and they don't care. You might not be surprised to learn that Arkin limits who can read and interact with his Twitter account.
In reporting on what appeared to be a second attempt, the television stations did not even air the footage or photos of the previous attempt. Instead, They used photos From a court appearance.
“Do you foresee calls within the Trump campaign for…?” [tone] “Should we tone down the rhetoric?” MSNBC weekend anchor Alex Witt asked on the air.[Tone] How to reduce violence?
And it continues.
