‘The View’ co-host Whoopi Goldberg says Elon Musk is Trump’s ‘actual vice president,’ should give up X

“The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg suggested Thursday that Billionaire X owner Elon Musk might be President-elect Donald Trump's “real” running mate.

Goldberg made the claim on Thursday's episode of his ABC talk show, claiming that Musk is making decisions as if he were effectively Trump's second-in-command. And she argued that she should be asked to sell her social media platform.

“Musk is the real, actual vice president. He's making decisions and running things. So I think, why not give up everything he's done to X? ”

Experts say Trump would need Congressional approval to dissolve the Education Department.

The co-host's theory came up during a discussion about the recent exodus of liberals from X to the new social media site Bluesky.

Fellow co-host Alyssa Farrar Griffin said the country's divisions will only become more entrenched as people move to new apps.

“So this election was a close one. Donald Trump will win, the right will stay with X, and the left will.” in the blue sky. How do we try to talk to each other? asked Griffin.

Whoopi first accused conservatives of banishing liberals from their platforms.

She said, “Unfortunately, I have to say that the other side chased people away, because, you know, it's not just a discourse. I said, “Do this for you.'' And I don't think anyone should take that away from someone if they don't have to. ”

She added that Republican social media users are also running away from X because they may have different opinions than most Republicans. “They're moving too,” she said.

Another reason for her defection was President Trump's appointment of Musk to his Cabinet, one of the heads of his proposed Department of Government Efficiency.

“I also know why, because as I believe, Elon Musk is the actual vice president,” she told her co-hosts.

“Yes, I believe that,” she continued, highlighting that Vice President-elect J.D. Vance is only an “interim” nomination.

“Because I think Matt is J.D. Vance, not Matt. He's kind of an interim player.”
