“The View” co-hosts on Thursday slammed critics calling for Sonia Sotomayor’s resignation, saying former MSNBC host Mehdi Hassan was “wrong” to suggest she resign as a Supreme Court justice. ”
The co-hosts questioned why Justice Clarence Thomas was still on the court and criticized Mr. Hasan.
“We support this man, Justice Sotomayor. We know what she thinks. We don’t always agree with them, but we know what she thinks, and she is a thoughtful person. She’s a deep person. We don’t know some of the other people, and we’re trying to get her off the show.” “It doesn’t mean anyone else is going to do well. So what he’s saying is… What? There are people who should go because they’re not doing what I think should be done. Clarence Thomas should have stepped aside. He shouldn’t have been sitting there,” co-hosts said. Co-host Alyssa Farrar Griffin defended Hasan and said she asked Thomas to resign, but Goldberg said, “I didn’t want to hear that.”

Hostin and Goldberg argued that Democrats do not “stack courts,” but Republicans do so by “picking up two seats.”
Hostin said Hassan misunderstands Sotomayor and thinks Sotomayor is very smart.

Hasan argued that other countries require judges to retire by the age of 70, adding, “People ask, “What are people in their 80s doing on the Supreme Court? Or running for president? “There might be some,” he asked frankly.
Journalist Josh Barro made similar claims and called for Sotomayor to retire.
