Forbes Unveils 40th Annual Billionaires List Tied to Epstein
Forbes Magazine has just released its latest world billionaires list, and it shows some connections to Jeffrey Epstein’s past associations.
Following the Justice Department’s release of documents regarding Epstein back on December 19, a considerable number of wealthy individuals linked to him have stepped down and publicly expressed regret.
The recent Forbes list includes 3,428 individuals, many of whom were also mentioned in Epstein’s records, though with varying degrees of involvement.
Leading the charge is Bill Gates, now the 19th richest person globally with a fortune of $108 billion.
According to emails made public by federal authorities, Epstein asserted that Gates, who was a regular at Epstein’s Upper East Side residence, had requested drugs due to a sexually transmitted infection from “having relations with a Russian girl.” Quite the claim, right?
Gates, now 70, later acknowledged that he had flown on Epstein’s private jet and admitted to having been involved with two Russian women, labeling his friendship with Epstein as a “big mistake.” He insisted, however, that nothing illegal occurred.
Also notable on the list is Les Wexner, founder of Victoria’s Secret, whose wealth is valued at $8.8 billion, placing him at 402nd. He was known to be one of Epstein’s closest associates and has expressed his discontent, referring to Epstein as a fraud who duped him financially.
Sergey Brin, co-founder of Google and currently the third richest man with $237 billion, paid a visit to Epstein’s island in 2007.
Further down the list is Steve Tisch, the chairman of the New York Giants, who ranks 1,193rd with a fortune of $2.2 billion. Tisch’s communications with Epstein, dating from 2013, raised eyebrows, particularly regarding discussions of women, which Tisch later clarified were adult women.
Recently, Tisch stated his intention to pass on the ownership of the NFL franchise to his children.
Howard Lutnick, former CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald, is listed as the 542nd richest with $7.2 billion. He lived next door to Epstein and has mentioned that he found the atmosphere unsettling during a visit. Interestingly, he later traveled to Epstein’s island in 2012.
LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman, aged 58 and valued at $2.7 billion, also visited Epstein’s island back in 2014, later joking about sending ice cream “to the girls” as a gift. An odd comment, perhaps.
Moreover, Tom Pritzker, heir to the Hyatt Hotels fortune and the 677th richest person globally, helped arrange a trip for Epstein’s girlfriend. He has since expressed regrets about his association with Epstein and resigned from his position as Hyatt’s chairman.
In summary, this year’s Forbes list paints a complex picture, highlighting numerous billionaires with varying degrees of ties to Epstein that leave us wondering about the nature of those relationships.
