"There's always hope": Savannah Guthrie shares emotional video update two weeks after her mother's disappearance

Search for Savannah Guthrie’s Mother Continues

The search for Savannah Guthrie’s mother is now into its third week. Over the weekend, the Today show host shared a new video, making a heartfelt plea to anyone who might have information on her mother’s location.

Nancy Guthrie, who is 84 years old, was reported missing on February 1. It appears that members of her church noticed her absence from services, prompting them to alert her family. Authorities are examining various pieces of evidence, but as of two weeks following her disappearance, they have yet to uncover any significant leads about her situation.

“We believe in the inherent goodness of all human beings. And it’s never too late,” Savannah said in her latest video.

During Sunday’s video, she particularly urged individuals who might know something—especially the masked man caught on the doorbell camera—to come forward. This video was shared on her Instagram account.

In her post, Guthrie implored viewers: “Take her home. It’s never too late to do the next right thing.”

She expressed, “It’s been two weeks since my mother was taken away, and I just wanted to come and say… We still have hope and believe. For anyone who knows where she is, it’s never too late to do the right thing.” Her statement reflects a deep conviction about the goodness present within humanity.

While investigators continue their work, they have not yet discerned a motive behind Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance. However, gloves discovered near her home in Tucson do bear a strong resemblance to those seen in the doorbell footage. Reports indicate that DNA testing is underway to help identify a potential suspect.

The FBI is encouraging anyone with information to contact them at 1-800-CALL-FBI or visit their tips page. Additionally, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department has provided a hotline for tips, which can be reached at 88-CRIME or 520-351-4900.
