Trump’s Higher Calling
Politics can mean different things to different people. For some, it’s all about wielding power, while for others, it’s about serving the public. But for President Donald Trump, recent statements and actions indicate that he believes it represents something greater—a higher purpose.
In a recent interview, Vice President JD Vance mentioned that the priest who baptized him believed that if Trump could help mediate peace in Ukraine, he would surely embrace that role. Trump himself has expressed a desire for a connection with the divine, saying that he “wants to go to heaven.”
Many view President Trump’s ongoing efforts as divinely inspired, aimed at fostering global peace, enhancing domestic security, and creating economic opportunities.
As a Christian, I understand that faith in Jesus Christ is about securing our eternal future, not just our earthly existence. Nonetheless, as an American, I appreciate leaders like Trump who embody grace, truth, and courage—qualities we interpret as being aligned with God’s intentions for public service.
His commitment to peace is evident in his initiatives, such as a comprehensive drive to halt the conflict in Ukraine. This includes important discussions between key figures like Presidents Zelensky and Putin. Trump has called for European nations to step up, thereby easing the financial load on U.S. taxpayers, and has supported durable solutions elsewhere, including the peace framework for Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as efforts between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Many nations impacted by Trump’s initiatives have even nominated him for the Nobel Peace Prize. It’s notable, after all, that during his terms, he was the only president in the 21st century to broker multiple peace agreements while avoiding the onset of new wars.
This approach echoes Ronald Reagan’s strategy of prioritizing diplomacy over perpetual conflicts and safeguarding military personnel.
Another hallmark of Trump’s leadership has been restoring transparency within our institutions. By removing federal mandates around diversity, equity, and inclusion, he has defended both religious and economic freedoms against those who wish to impose their ideologies.
It’s important to remember that America thrives on equal opportunity rather than enforced equity. The focus should be on empowering economic freedom rather than excessive government intervention. Trump recognizes that dwelling on past grievances fosters division. Instead, our educational institutions, culture, and museums should reflect a more optimistic outlook.
Organizations like the State Finance Officer Foundation, which I’m proud to lead, are definitely on board. SFOF consists of state finance officers and auditors advocating for free markets in the U.S. and opposing policies that stifle innovation and fairness. These treasurers have influenced policies that align with Trump’s vision for advancing the economic well-being of all Americans.
In essence, we support the President as his vision encourages prosperity and exemplifies American exceptionalism.
Trump’s bravery becomes particularly apparent when we consider America’s safety and worker commitment. Under his leadership, D.C.—a city riddled with crime—experienced a notable decline in violent incidents, dropping around 35% since his intervention.
His tough stance on illegal immigration led to a historic reduction in border crossings, which plunged to lows not witnessed in decades. In fact, more than 300,000 undocumented migrants were deported, prioritizing public safety and upholding the rule of law.
On the economic front, Trump’s policies attracted trillions and fostered investments from international allies, along with generating over $100 billion in tariffs. These initiatives have led to job creation across various sectors, ensuring that American workers are prioritized like never before.
Despite the ongoing opposition from critics who often seem shortsighted in their judgment, I urge them to reconsider. This moment raises the call for unity rather than division.
I genuinely believe that divine intervention has deepened Trump’s faith and resolve, especially after a close call in Butler, Pennsylvania, last summer. It appears that America and the world are benefiting from this journey.
To President Trump, I say: continue your leadership. Your country stands behind you, and history will remember your efforts.
