This is the color everyone will be wearing this summer

A 2024 couture masterpiece.

From Hollywood to TikTok, trendsetters Stir She showed off some of the most delicious looks of the year, stealing the show in mouthwatering hot hues and wearing the shades of the sunny season.

“The color of summer is [butter] yellow,” Announcing NYC Style Influencers Isabel Michelle took part in the cyber sound-off while twirling in a SHEIN minidress.

Her emotions are Madison Lin, a self-proclaimed “fashion girlie”“The colour butter yellow has me hooked on summer fashion,” commented another, but equally stylish commenter.

“I love this color,” added Lin, from Los Angeles. “It makes me feel happy, I feel good when I wear it, and it goes with everything. I want to keep it.”

The internet frenzy over the buttery yellow off-white lemon hue of Kate Hudson’s Carolina Herrera dress in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days was born as an attempt at “dopamine dressing,” a social media trend encouraging fashionistas to don the vibrant ensemble in the name of healthy mental health.

“This is by no means medicine,” fashion psychologist Dawn Cullen previously said about the trend, “but I’ve seen people who are normally very shy wear colorful clothing and become brave, fabulous and free.”

The top power players seem to agree.

Luxury fashion houses such as Schiaparelli, Bottega Veneta and Jacquemus featured butter yellow prominently on their runways, whetting fashionistas’ appetites for this year’s trendy top hue.

The same sparkle was also seen on A-list stars like Aubrey Plaza, Rihanna and Emily Ratajkowski, who showed it off at glamorous pre-summer parties.

Plaza, 39, showed off her flawless aesthetic in a yellow satin shirt by Loewe at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards in January.

“Diamonds” songstress Rihanna, 36, looked equally radiant in the same shade when she wore a strapless Alexander McQueen midi dress to the Fenty Beauty launch in April.

And Emrata, 32, turned heads in May when she wore a halter-neck silk Dolce & Gabbana dress to the Kings Trust Global Gala.

The butter yellow trend comes on the heels of the “red tights” craze, a devilishly divine trend that has seen celebrities like Anya Taylor-Joy, 28, don crimson stockings all winter long.

But fashion pros at fashion marketplace Depop say the new color trend is likely here to stay.

“After red’s dominance as the color of the moment, softer colors are returning as summer approaches, and yellow is a great color for holidays, summer events and festivals,” experts say. He told Hypebabe.

“Bright enough to grab attention, yet soft enough to be easy to wear, butter yellow exudes a cheerful and carefree vibe that’s perfect for the summer season.”
