Turning Point USA Event in Bozeman Draws Thousands
On Tuesday evening, Turning Point USA (TPUSA) attracted a large crowd in Bozeman, Montana. The gathering took place at Montana State University and featured notable speakers, including Montana Governors Greg Gianforte and Vivek Ramaswamy. Gianforte led the crowd in a prayer before delivering his address.
During his speech, Ramaswamy passionately defended free speech, stating, “censor-free debate should be available to everyone from Nick Fuentes to Alex Jones to Jimmy Kimmel.” He emphasized that “words are not violence, but violence is violence,” and insisted that “violence is never an acceptable response to words.” This principle, he argued, is essential to both the Constitution and the American identity.
Gianforte acknowledged Charlie Kirk for his dedication to self-education, noting that the influential conservative figure wasn’t a college graduate. “He disciplined himself to study economics, history, philosophy and theology,” Gianforte commented, highlighting Kirk’s intellectual journey and ability to engage in respectful debates.
TPUSA initiated its “This Is The Turning Point” tour just days after Kirk’s assassination. This tour has already made stops in Utah, Montana, and other states.
Despite his youth, Kirk had emerged as a significant figure in the conservative movement and played a crucial role in President Donald Trump’s 2024 election success. He founded TPUSA at the young age of 18, encouraged by Tea Party activists.
In the wake of Kirk’s death, TPUSA has experienced a notable increase in interest, reporting 120,000 requests for starting new campus chapters just four days post-assassination. Currently, the organization boasts 900 official university chapters and around 1,200 high school chapters.
During a memorial service held at State Farm Stadium in Arizona, Kirk was honored by political leaders, religious figures, and prominent conservative media personalities. Trump credited Kirk with invigorating young Republican voters and aiding in his election win in 2024.
