Three boys arrested for assaulting homeless man; one is only 12 years old, according to California police

Three juveniles were arrested after witnesses told California police: was assaulting Homeless man on Saturday.

The Long Beach Police Department said they were called to downtown Long Beach near Pacific Avenue and 1st Street for a report of an assault with a deadly weapon.

When officers arrived, the boys fled the scene, but police said they were able to locate them and take them into custody.

Video showed police handcuffing the youngest of the boys, a 12-year-old boy, and placing him in a police car. The other two boys were 14 and 15 years old.

The three are charged with assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy. Their identities were not released because of their age.

The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries to his upper body. He was treated by paramedics but refused transport to hospital.
