Mexican authorities are investigating the murder of three tourists on a remote beach in Baja California. Current theories point to a robbery gone awry in which the victim apparently tried to resist.
Baja California Attorney General Maria Elena Andrade Ramirez said authorities had found the bodies of three people believed to be the three missing tourists. The bodies had been shot and dumped in a 45-foot chasm in La Vos de la Frontera. report.
Authorities are still awaiting the results of DNA testing, but clothing and other items at the scene suggest investigators believe the bodies are those of Australian brothers Jake and Callum Robinson and their friend Jack Kartel, a U.S. citizen.・I thought it belonged to Lord. Authorities found a fourth body at the scene, but Mexican authorities told local news the incidents were unrelated and the body had been there for a much longer period of time.
The three tourists were initially reported missing on April 26, but it remains unclear when the fourth body was dumped into the rift.
In a report, La Vos de la Frontera claimed that three tourists were spending time at the beach in Ensenada when a group of robbers attacked them to steal items from a truck. The three tourists resisted but were killed by the robbers during a scuffle. Investigators arrested three men in connection with the incident.
Mexican authorities insist the killing was not the work of organized crime members, calling the incident a common street crime incident.
