Thunder will be without Chet Holmgren for a minimum of 2 months due to a knee injury during a series of early-season NBA injuries.

The Oklahoma City Thunder will face a tough few months without one of their star players. Chet Holmgren is expected to be sidelined for about eight to ten weeks due to a right knee injury. This adds to a somewhat concerning trend of injuries in the NBA as the season gets underway. The Thunder were already preparing to cope without Jalen Williams and Cason Wallace, who might miss the entire regular season. Holmgren started feeling knee discomfort on Sunday.

After consulting with multiple specialists, Holmgren received a biological treatment on Friday for a minor tear in his patellar tendon.

On the same day, Wallace also had surgery for a labral tear in his left shoulder, performed in Los Angeles by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, with Thunder medical staff present. He will need to be reevaluated before the regular season concludes.

Meanwhile, Williams suffered a broken left fibula and dislocated left ankle on Sunday, and the team indicated he too would be evaluated again at some point before the season ends.

In other news, it was reported earlier this week that Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards is likely to undergo arthroscopic surgery to relieve pain in his right knee, which could keep him out for up to two months.
