A TikTok user, known as GuessNotLost, has gained fame for his remarkable ability to identify locations from the most obscure social media images.
In a recent TikTok clip that has racked up 17.6 million views, he showcased his impressive geolocation skills by uncovering where an X user bought a corndog.
The post read, “I found the best corndog and I’m not telling anyone where it is,” featuring an image of a hand holding the corndog in a crowded yet nondescript walkway.
This real-life GPS took on the challenge and remained unfazed by the ordinary-looking scene.
“You don’t have to tell us, because I already found it,” he confidently asserted, suggesting that the elusive corndog was likely in Prague, the historic capital of the Czech Republic.
He explained that he used several subtle hints from the photo—from the type of sidewalk to the attire of nearby pedestrians—to triangulate the location.
He initially narrowed in on a man wearing a red-and-black outfit carrying a package, thinking he could be a DHL courier.
“Maybe there’s a DHL express point nearby,” he mused.
After not finding an office in the immediate area, he decided to explore the streets, noticing that they were cobblestone with a distinctive cross pattern.
Using a methodical grid approach through the Czech city center, he eliminated sidewalk areas that didn’t fit the corndog scene, eventually matching a concrete spot that had a similar “trashcan and kiosk” from the image.
“Funny enough, just a few steps behind that spot, there’s this place that sells corndogs,” GuessNotLost remarked.
He then displayed a Google Maps Street View image of a food stand and even highlighted the menu. “You got the original with mozzarella in it, which comes out to 130 Czech Koruna,” noted this geolocation expert, translating that to a little over $6 USD.
Viewers were amazed by GuessNotLost’s ability, with one person joking, “You might be FBI.”
Another viewer quipped, “If I ever go missing, please call this guy instead of the police.”
Other TikTok users humorously asked if he could help them find a “job” or a “husband.”
Some even issued challenges for him to figure out their locations based on blurry photos.
In addition to tracking down Slavic corndogs, GuessNotLost has also used social media to figure out that hip-hop artist Drake was in Turks and Caicos and even to trace a mysterious UFO-like shadow on a mountain.
Unfortunately for fans of sci-fi, his investigation revealed a far more mundane explanation than extraterrestrial activity—a simple cloud passing in front of the sun.
