Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) has declared a “definite no” to the newly announced border security bill, which is receiving a lot of attention from Republicans.

Scott also criticized the bill for including $60 billion in aid to Ukraine and $14 billion in aid to Israel, adding that these should be separate bills.
“We’re going to spend $60 billion in Ukraine, and we already need accountability for the money we spend,” he said. “It was the Israeli crisis that got us here, about $14 billion,” he said. We are making mistakes,” he said.

Scott also said future border security bills should focus on issues such as Chinese people crossing the southern border.
“In fact, it would be an acknowledgment of the fact that the vast majority of people coming across the border are not from Mexico,” he said. “Literally, record numbers of Chinese people are coming across our southern border, and over 150 countries are represented on our southern border.
