Recently, a food truck called TNT Tacos suffered a devastating explosion in Tennessee, resulting in serious burns for the owners, just one day shy of their 25th wedding anniversary.
Tiffany and Tim McPherson were preparing for the day in their truck in rural Atwood when an unexpected explosion enveloped them in flames, pushing Tiffany against the wall.
“The force of the blast threw me into the wall across from the sink, trapping me,” Tiffany shared on their GoFundMe page, where she also commended her husband for his bravery in saving her.
Tim was propelled toward the door, yet he chose to rush back to help her, dragging Tiffany outside to safety, despite the chaos around them, Tiffany explained.
“He went through ‘hell and hell’ to save me,” she said.
After the explosion on June 4, the couple was airlifted to a Nashville hospital, over 100 miles away, suffering from severe second- and third-degree burns. They underwent multiple surgeries, including skin grafts.
On the following day, the McPhersons marked their anniversary in the hospital, both in pain and bandaged but still holding hands, as captured in a heartwarming photo shared by their daughter Giada Pastrana, who organized the fundraiser.
“It’s genuinely a miracle that they survived,” Pastrana noted on the crowdfunding page.
According to her, the couple will be in the hospital for several months and require further surgeries.
“Tim and I are survivors, still dealing with the aftermath. We are eternally grateful for all the love and support we’ve received,” Tiffany stated.
The explosion completely destroyed TNT Tacos, and images of the burnt remains have been shared on the fundraising site. Local fire officials are still investigating the cause of the explosion.
