Chrisley Family Discusses Presidential Pardon

Todd and Julie Chrisley shared their unexpected experience of receiving a presidential pardon from Donald Trump during an interview that will air on Fox’s “My Views with Lara Trump” this Saturday.

Todd described the moment as surreal, noting how everybody seemed to be watching him closely. Usually, news of imprisonment carries a lot of negativity; it’s tough to hear. But this was different.

In what was their first interview since Trump’s pardon and Todd’s release from prison, the family appeared together, including their children Savannah and Grayson.

Todd expressed a strong belief that his imprisonment isn’t where his story ends. He mentioned, “The judicial system will turn that around,” emphasizing his hope for vindication.

During the interview, he recalled how, while walking with other inmates, a corrections officer confirmed the news of his pardon, which he initially couldn’t believe. The officer’s simple query, “Are you doing okay?” marked a turning point for him.

He reflected on gratefulness, saying, “We are thankful to God,” and expressed that he believes God guided Trump’s decision. He emphasized his nightly prayers for a return to his family were finally answered.

Savannah, their daughter, actively campaigned for her parents’ release following their sentencing in June 2022 for federal court charges in Atlanta. She claimed the prosecution was influenced by their political connections and support for conservative values.

Chrisley’s legal team described Trump’s pardon as a significant move as the couple prepares for a fresh start.

Todd received a 12-year sentence, while Julie was sentenced to 7 years for various financial crimes, including bank and tax fraud, after a trial that lasted almost three weeks. The charges included attempts to reduce tax liability deceitfully, which they both deny.

In a press conference shortly after their release, Todd and Savannah reiterated their innocence. Todd even joked about not needing a return to Botox, while Savannah outlined plans for their future.

The family is set to return to reality TV with a new series on Lifetime, promising to shed light on their experiences during this difficult time.

“We will set the record straight and focus on moving forward,” Savannah said.

For viewers wanting a deeper look, a full interview with the Chrisleys will be available on June 28th at 9 PM on “My Views with Lara Trump.”
