A two-year-old boy, who was reportedly assaulted by his father, tragically passed away in a hospital, as his devastated mother announced online.
This heartbreaking incident unfolded after Davon Morrison, 30, was charged with attempted murder and assault for allegedly beating his son at a shelter. It seems he carried the child around for three days in Queens and East Harlem until someone alerted law enforcement.
Cindy Williams, the grieving mother, shared her sorrow, saying, “February 4, 2026, 10:26 p.m. There’s nothing else to say. It’s over.” It’s so gut-wrenching to think about.
Authorities confirmed that the boy, identified as Maliek, suffered severe injuries. Prosecutors from the Queens District Attorney’s Office indicated they would enhance the charges against Morrison now that Maliek has passed. They reiterated their commitment to taking further legal action if the child didn’t survive.
Upon waking up at the shelter, Maliek was found with visible bruises. Instead of getting him medical help, Morrison reportedly strolled around with him in a stroller. It was only when they reached the mother’s apartment that a bystander noticed Maliek’s condition and called for help.
After his arrest, Morrison claimed he couldn’t remember whether he had hit his child, but authorities stated he was intoxicated at the time.
Prosecutors revealed that Maliek suffered from severe injuries, including extensive brain damage and internal trauma. During Morrison’s court appearance, they noted that he was on a ventilator and likely facing death.
