Clashes Erupt at California Pot Farm
Tom Homan, a prominent figure at the border, expressed strong disapproval regarding the violence that unfolded on a cannabis farm in California.
His comments came after a night where protesters allegedly hurled rocks and, unsettlingly, at least one firearm was discharged during a confrontation at a large marijuana operation in which eight unaccompanied illegal immigrant boys were found.
“What transpired in California reflects a troubling trend of protesters crossing the line into criminal behavior, spurred on by some congressional members drawing comparisons to Nazis and terrorists,” Homan shared during an appearance on Fox & Friends.
Immigration agents had descended on Glass House Farm in Camarillo, one of the largest cannabis farms in Southern California, encountering numerous demonstrators blocking the road as they squared off against uniformed officers.
The situation intensified, prompting the use of chemical agents from the federal officers as protesters retaliated with objects resembling rocks. It was reported that some individuals among the demonstrators began shooting into the air.
This standoff stretched on for four hours, with the US Customs and Border Patrol deploying military-style vehicles to establish blockades in an otherwise serene area.
Footage from ABC 7 indicated several workers were apprehended during this incident, though the exact number remains unclear.
The facility is currently facing scrutiny over allegations of child labor violations, as CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott revealed that ten undocumented boys were discovered on the premises, eight of whom were unaccompanied.
