Tom Homan denies deal with NYC Mayor Eric Adams to drop charges in exchange for migrant concessions: ‘Ridiculous’

Border Emperor Tom Homan on Sunday denied that the Justice Department had dropped accusations against New York Mayor Eric Adams in exchange for allowing immigrants to migrate to Rikers Island.

“I think that's ridiculous,” Homan told CNN's “Union Status.”

Justice officials last week ordered federal prosecutors in Manhattan to drop a five-count bribery charge against 64-year-old Adams, saying that rap is politically motivated, but he is to be recharged. I left the door open.

A few days later, Adams vowed to reopen the closed U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Office on Rikers Island after meeting Thursday with 63-year-old Homan.

“Me and Mayor Adams met a few months ago. …We had the same argument – we talked about gaining a presence on Rikers Island,” Homan said.

“We had a couple of them [of] A few months ago, long before this other discussion. ”

The post previously reported that the facility was reopened during a meeting with Homan in December. The office was closed more than a decade ago thanks to the 2014 “Sanctuary Cities” Act, signed by Mayor de Blasio at the time.

Democrats have shown a sequence of recent events that include Homan, the Justice Department and Adams.

Democrat New York Gov. Kathy Hochul is under pressure to evoke her powers to take the mayor, and critics say he is now seen by the Trump administration. She has not ruled out anything and told MSNBC last week that she cannot “knee down, politically motivated response” to the ordeal.

Hizzoner has long argued that the indictment against him in September was politically motivated, and it is possible that his criticism of the Biden administration's border policy was a factor in the incident that brought him to him. He claimed that there was.

Adams could have faced him up to 45 years behind the bar if he was convicted of the charges.

Prosecutors also alleged that Adams had cheated on a public campaign fund for $10 million.

Daniel Sasson, a US lawyer for the Southern District of New York, resigned last week to repeal accusations against Hezoner by a Trump-led Justice Department order.

Sussone, the former clerk of the late Sprame Court Justice Antonin Scalia, wrote a ferocious letter to U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi. Without fear or favor. ”

Sussone's role was intended to be temporary. Because Trump tapped former Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Jay Clayton and worked as a full-fledged lawyer for the Southern District of New York, if confirmed by the Senator.

On Friday, the federal government filed an motion to dismiss Adams's case without bias. This means that the charges against Hezoner could be resurrected. A federal judge must light the movement green for it to pass.

How did the post office cover the way federal prosecutors withdraw bribery charges against Adams?

Homan and Adams participated in a joint interview on “Fox & Friends” on Friday, raising eyebrows among critics about their work relationship.

“If he can't get through, I'll be back in New York City and we won't be sitting on the couch. I'm in his office, lifting his ass and agreeing we came? ” ” Homan said, sitting next to the mayor.

However, the border emperor Sunday dismissed speculation that he implies some kind of mutual agreement relating to Hezoner's bribery prosecution.

“This is what two officers are talking about,” Homan told CNN. “It was a joke. As you play more tapes, he laughs and immediately replies, “I'll hold you accountable.”

“This is a conversation between two police officers having a good time, and people are doing a lot in nothing.”

Adams is a former NYPD police officer, and Homan was previously a police officer in West Carthage, New York.

At one point, CNN host Dana Bash asked Homan that if Adams “doesn't do what you want, it's okay for the DOJ to resume his investigation.

“I'm the border emperor, I care about the border,” replied Homan. “Let the DOJ do what they're doing. I'm interested in removing the threat of public safety from the country.”

The mayor's office did not respond to a mail request for comment.

Homan also made a statement Sunday to Fox News' Laura Ingraham last week, last week he wrote a webinar in which Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) discusses people's rights. He defended his statement that he would investigate whether hosting the law was violated when it came to ice.

“I've done this since 1984,” he said of immigration enforcement. “We've forgotten about immigration laws more than the AOC knows before.”
