President Joe Biden plans to step down as the Democratic presidential nominee “as soon as this weekend,” several senior Democratic officials told Axios privately on Thursday.
The Biden-Harris campaign quickly rejected the idea. tell Bloomberg predicted Biden would continue to come out on top.
Nearly two-thirds of Democrats want Biden out of the race, according to an Associated Press-NORC poll conducted Wednesday.
“His choice is to become one of the heroes of history or to be convinced of the fact that the Biden Presidential Library will never be built,” one close Biden confidant told Axios. “I pray he does the right thing. He’s heading in that direction.”
