Notably, the Human Rights Campaign has been gaining influence by rating the nation’s largest companies through its Corporate Quality Index, which companies can voluntarily join, according to an article sponsored by 1792 Exchange and posted on the Breitbart News website.
The article continues:
The survey includes questions about “affirmatively offering transgender-inclusive health benefits and broadly eliminating exclusions across plan offerings.” Survey respondents also earn points for “marketing or advertising to LGBTQ consumers.” Remember Dylan Mulvaney of Bud Light fame? Now you can see why Anheuser-Busch InBev would risk alienating millions of Bud Light drinkers by partnering with a caricature of a transgender person to promote their beer brand. All for the sake of earning survey points.
…
It all comes down to money. The Corporate Equality Index is part of the Environmental Social Governance (ESG) movement, a so-called “ethical investing” movement driven by the top three US investment firms: BlackRock, State Street Bank and Vanguard. These companies are the largest shareholders in the largest publicly traded US companies, and many are more interested in attracting investment than in antagonizing consumers (though Anheuser-Busch InBev may now be taking a more cautious view after it reportedly lost $1.4 billion in sales in backlash to its transgender influencer marketing program).
In a recent statement, Tractor Supply said it would continue to listen to its customers and employees, adding that “as we look forward to celebrating our nation’s independence, we also celebrate our more than 50,000 associates across our 2,250 stores.”
“Rural communities are the bedrock of our country and what makes America great, and we’re honored to be a part of them,” the company concluded.
