Trans lawmaker claims conservatives are the 'strange' ones

Rep. Sarah McBride’s Remarks on Conservatives

Rep. Sarah McBride, a Democratic congresswoman from Delaware and the first openly transgender individual elected to Congress, recently shared her thoughts on conservative politics, labeling them as “strange.”

McBride expressed her opinion, stating, “They’re focused on culture wars, and it’s a bit odd. The Republican Party seems deeply invested in these issues. The American people, I believe, deserve representatives who prioritize unity rather than division.”

Meanwhile, BlazeTV host Sarah Gonzalez chimed in, suggesting that conservatives are not aligned with McBride’s perspective. She remarked, “If you trust someone who claims to be a different gender, that’s where the misunderstanding begins. We, however, trust in biological truths—men are men and women are women. I think our rights shouldn’t be viewed as peculiar.”

Gonzalez continued, “It’s just so bizarre. I mean, look at a selfie McBride posted from a women’s restroom in 2016.” She went on to reference the caption attached to the photo, which expressed a desire for privacy and acceptance.

“I’m simply a person. We all want to use the restroom peacefully and live authentically. But, I feel like I have to defend my presence in these spaces,” she commented. Her tone mixed amusement and frustration over the reactions to her identity.

Ultimately, Gonzalez critiqued McBride’s actions, saying, “It’s a man who enters a women’s bathroom and shares a photo online just for attention.”
