Peter Navarro, who worked in the White House under former President Trump, will report to a Miami prison on March 19th for ignoring a House committee subpoena on January 6th, and will be sentenced to four years in prison. He was ordered to begin serving a month in prison.
The order was announced in a court filing Sunday by Navarro’s attorney, Stanley Woodward.
In January, U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta sentenced Navarro to four months in prison and ordered him to pay a $9,500 fine. Although the sentence was two months shorter than six prosecutors had sought, Mehta significantly reduced the hefty $200,000 fine sought by the Justice Department.
