Trump and Mamdani appear 'excited' in their first White House meeting, according to a body language expert

Trump and Mayor-Elect Mamdani’s Unexpected First Meeting

President Trump and New York’s Mayor-elect Zoran Mamdani shared an unexpectedly cheerful encounter during their initial meeting at the White House. This comes after months of mutual criticism, which makes the shift even more striking, according to body language specialist Dr. Carol Lieberman.

Following a private discussion, both leaders appeared excessively joyful as they addressed reporters. Dr. Lieberman commented, “They looked almost dizzy, as if something light-hearted were in the air—like maybe someone injected a bit of laughing gas.” She described their interaction as resembling a “love fest.”

Interestingly, Dr. Lieberman noted Mamdani’s body language, pointing out that he seemed to channel an elementary schoolboy vibe. “He had his hands clasped, almost pleading like he was saying, ‘Please, can I have some more?'” she remarked.

During the 30-minute press briefing, 34-year-old Mamdani was seen laughing while seated next to 79-year-old Trump, who lounged comfortably at his Resolute desk. Their back-and-forth exchanges felt warm and engaging.

“Trump was quite affectionate, patting Mamdani on the back and shaking his hand, yet would always end with a gentle clap to remind everyone who was in charge,” Lieberman observed.

They discussed issues surrounding affordability in their first encounter, with Mamdani later stating that the discussions were productive and friendly.

“I found him to be quite reasonable, someone genuinely interested in making New York flourish,” Trump shared in the Oval Office. “I back him.”

In a bit of irony, Mamdani, who had previously labeled Trump a “tyrant,” received praise from Trump, who had called him a “100% communist lunatic.” It certainly seems their relationship has taken an unexpected turn.
