The Republican Party has officially nominated Donald Trump as its presidential candidate for the 2024 election.

On Monday, Trump was announced as the official presidential candidate at the Republican National Convention (RNC) after securing enough delegates in roll call votes from each state.

45 peopleNumber The president announced on Truth Social that Senator J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) would run as his running mate.

This comes two days after a 20-year-old man attempted to assassinate President Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania. The shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, was shot and killed by a sniper, with the former president luckily only suffering minor injuries, such as a bullet grazing his right ear.

He is scheduled to speak at the Republican National Convention later this week.
