President Donald Trump appeared emotional as he reflected on his “beloved” parents during his post-inauguration speech.
Following his inaugural address, the priest said: In his speech, Frank Mann referred to President Trump's “loving protection” as he begins his second term in office.
“From their place in heaven, may they protect and strengthen their son from all harm with their loving protection.”
“My heart is lifted as I express my gratitude to President Trump's beloved parents,” Mann said in his speech. “Without Mary and Fred Trump, this day would not have been the miracle it has just begun. From their place in heaven, their loving protection protected their son from all harm and led this nation on its next path. May you give us the strength to lead and make America great again.”
Mann continued, “Let's depart now with these words of President Trump in our hearts.'' “'As long as we are proud of what we believe, as courageous as we are in our beliefs, and as long as we believe in God, we will not fail. We will stand tall. We will stand tall and proud to be Americans.' and to God and God alone we bow our knees.'' Amen. ”
In his inaugural address, Trump thanked God for saving his life and praised his ascension to become the nation's second president as something that could only be described as divine intervention.
“Those who seek to stop our cause are trying to take away my freedom and, in fact, take my life,” Trump said. “Only a few months ago, in a beautiful Pennsylvania field, an assassin's bullet shot through my ear. But I knew then, and even more so now, that my life was saved for a reason. I thought it was stolen.”
President Trump added, “I was saved by God to make America great again.”
