Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday made a desperate appeal to MAGA voters for financial help as the deadline approaches to pay his $454 million bail in a New York civil fraud case.
“Keep your filthy hands away from Trump Tower!” Trump’s endorsement comes from a community fundraising committee that allocates money to Trump’s campaign and another political committee that pays for Trump’s legal fees. A message is read out to the person.
The 2022 civil fraud case filed by New York Attorney General Letitia James is one of several legal battles President Trump faces in the run-up to the upcoming presidential election.
The message asked supporters to donate between $20.24 and more than $3,300.
In the message, Trump accused James of trying to seize Trump’s assets to undermine Trump’s re-election campaign as part of a “witch hunt” led by Biden and the Democratic Party.
“So before the day is over, I am calling on the 1 million pro-Trump patriots to join together and say, ‘Stop the witch hunt against President Trump!’” the message said.
Biden has previously said he is not involved in any lawsuits against Trump.
Trump’s fundraising page mentions James’ case but does not say the funds will be used to cover the case.

It is unclear whether President Trump will be able to use the funds to pay for his judgment under federal law.
Federal law prohibits the use of campaign funds for personal expenses. Still, Trump argued that his legal defense was related to his campaign and was able to use his donations to pay for some of his legal fees.
Mr. Trump’s lawyers said Monday in the New York Court of Appeals that 30 surety companies have refused to give him bond to cover a huge civil fraud judgment, moving him closer to foreclosure of his assets.
President Trump must post bail or foreclose to prevent state seizure of his assets while he appeals a verdict against him for defrauding lenders and insurance companies and misrepresenting real estate values.
Trump posted $91.6 million bail earlier this month to cover an $83.3 million defamation judgment in a lawsuit filed by author E. Jean Carroll.
Trump has denied wrongdoing in all civil and criminal cases currently filed against him.
