Trump Cabinet Picks Targeted with Death Threats: ‘Bomb Threats,’ ‘Swatting’

Many of President-elect Donald Trump's Cabinet nominees put their lives in danger Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

Melanie Zanona, senior Congressional correspondent for Punchbowl News, reports that former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), who declined as a candidate for attorney general, has been the subject of pipe bomb threats.

“I heard that a bomb squad is responding to the Florida home of former Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz after he received a pipe bomb threat,” Zanona wrote in a post on X.

“After the sheriff was made aware of the threat, bomb-sniffing dogs were brought in to sniff the mailbox, but it was inconclusive, which is why the team is being called in now,” she added. Ta.

The threat was made on the eve of Thanksgiving and followed two attempts on Trump's life in recent months, including one in which he was shot in the ear in Butler, Pennsylvania.
