Trump Comments on Israel and Hamas Negotiations
In a post on True Social, President Donald Trump mentioned that Israel has “temporarily stopped the bombing” to allow for the release of hostages and to facilitate a peace agreement. He expressed gratitude for this pause, indicating it could provide a chance to resolve ongoing tensions.
Trump noted that Hamas was asked to accept conditions that would lead to a peace agreement by Sunday at 6 PM. While Hamas has tentatively agreed to release remaining hostages and consider relinquishing power, Trump emphasized the need for Hamas to act swiftly, warning that “all bets are off” if they delay.
“I appreciate Israel’s temporary halt in bombing, as it allows for a possible negotiation for peace and the release of hostages,” Trump stated. He also highlighted the urgency, stating that many believe this is a crucial moment for Gaza, and urged for decisive action.
Although Hamas signaled a willingness to discuss an agreement that could lead to their relinquishment of power, they insisted further negotiations were necessary to align with “unanimous Palestinian attitudes.” Reports suggest that Hamas may still hold 48 hostages, with around 20 believed to be alive, according to sources.
On another note, Trump warned that if an agreement isn’t reached soon, the consequences for Hamas could be severe, suggesting unprecedented retribution if peace talks fail.
As of now, Israel’s Foreign Ministry has not responded to inquiries related to these developments.
