Trump held his first cabinet meeting of his second term on Wednesday.
“We've put together some great cabinets,” Trump said as he began the meeting. “And we were a huge success.”
At the start of the meeting, X owner and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk began talking about Doge's goal of reducing the deficit.
“That's why I'm here. By the way, I've got a lot of Flak and a lot of death threats,” Musk said.
It's only 37 days since Trump regained the White House.
Nevertheless, Doge has already saved the US federal government $65 billion. According to estimates. Musk previously expressed support for paying a “$5,000” dividend to US citizens. However, given the steadily increasing amount of government cash stored, it is unclear whether the money distributed to Americans will be over $5,000 more – if the dividend proposal is approved.
During Wednesday's meeting, Musk was asked by a reporter if he was particularly unelected as an official, as a non-elected person, that he was included in so many initiatives in the new administration.
“Are there anyone who's unhappy with Elon? If so, we'll throw them out from here,” Trump said. “They have a lot of respect for Elon and he does this. And some a bit opposed. But I'll tell you the majority of the matter, I think not only is everyone happy, but they're excited.”
Trump also highlighted that Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) administrator Lee Zeldin is planning to cut the agency's workforce by up to 65%.
“He thinks he's going to cut around 65% of people out of the environment, and we're also trying to speed up the process,” Trump said.

The president also explained that he would not “are very much beyond security guarantees to Ukraine.”
“I'm not going to do much security guarantees. We'll let Europe do that because you know – we're talking about Europe, [it’s] Their neighbors, but we make sure everything goes well. And, as you know, we are… going to actually partner with Ukraine from a rare earth perspective. [minerals]. Rare earths are very necessary. They have a big rare earth,” Trump said.
Trump went on to explain that Russian President Vladimir Putin “music “music” must make concessions in negotiations to end the Ukrainian war.
“Yeah, he'll do that,” Trump said when asked if Putin would make a concession. “He's going to have to do it, and I think that war will end because we were elected, and I believe it too. [that] If we were not elected, if this administration fails to win many elections, the war would last for a long time and he would want to take it all. ”
Trump vowed Wednesday that his administration would not cut eligibility programs such as Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.
“We won't touch it,” Trump was convinced.
He also noted that a 25% tariff on all Mexican and Canadian goods imported by the US will be imposed on April 2nd.ndthis is the deadline his administration set for an announcement regarding retaliatory tariffs against all other countries.
