Trump declares Gretzky ‘free agent’ after Gretzky says Canada should be ‘separate country’

After previously calling Wayne Gretzky “Governor of Canada,” President Donald Trump has declared the NHL legend a “free agent.”

Justin Trudeau announced his plans Resigns as Canadian Prime Minister Earlier this year, after Trump asked Canada to become “the 51st state,” he urged Gretzky to ask if he wanted to be “governor.”

But Trump said in his true social post Wednesday that his “friend” was “a little “low”” that Canada remains an independent country rather than becoming the precious and beautiful 51st state.

Therefore, “The Great One” is currently on the market.

“Wayne Gretzky is a great guy! They call him “great things.” He runs for a Canadian political office and is able to win. Wayne is my friend and he wants to make me happy.

“His great wives Wayne and Janet love Canada and they should only support Canada and the people of Canada and those who make Governor Justin Trudeau happy. He is the greatest Canadian of them. So I make him a 'free agent'.

“He supports Canada as is the case, despite not as good as being part of the 'good country of America's', some of the greatest and most powerful countries in the world. ”

While talking to reporters at Mar-A-Lago last month, Trump said Gretzky “hasn't been very interested in the governor” of Canada, but “he probably liked the nation.”

Gretzky attended Trump's 2024 election victory party after Trump defeated Vice President Kamala Harris. Gretzky was found wearing a Maga hat shortly thereafter and attended Trump's inauguration.
