Trump delays Cabinet trip to Camp David due to poor weather conditions

Update on Presidential Cabinet Meeting

UPDATE 5:10 PM – President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that the scheduled Cabinet trip to Camp David has been postponed.

The meeting will now take place at the White House on Wednesday due to “possible bad weather conditions” in the area.

Rain and possible thunderstorms in Maryland often make presidential transport tricky, as the administration tries to avoid grounding Marine One helicopters when visibility is poor.

Traditionally, Camp David meetings focus on national security matters and high-level diplomatic discussions.

11:02 AM – Cabinet Meeting Rescheduled

President Trump is expected to host an unusual Cabinet meeting at Camp David just hours after U.S. strikes on Iran, stirring concerns about the potential peace agreement.

The New York Post reported that all Cabinet members will attend the rescheduled meeting on Wednesday, including Director of Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, who recently tendered her resignation.

Discussion topics will encompass “recent successes of the administration, including economy and small business achievements, highlights from the Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, and updates on foreign policy,” according to a White House source.

During his presidency, Trump has visited the Maryland military base, about 60 miles from Washington, D.C., only 16 times. This will be his 12th Cabinet meeting since returning to office in 2025.

The strikes on southern Iran, carried out late Monday, were described by U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) spokesperson Captain Tim Hawkins as acts of “self-defense” intended to “protect our troops from threats posed by Iranian forces.”

“U.S. Central Command continues to defend our forces while using restraint during the ongoing ceasefire,” Hawkins remarked, highlighting that the targets were Iranian missile launchers and boats laying mines.

Trump held a conference call over the weekend with leaders from various neighboring countries in the Middle East. He later posted on Truth Social that “an agreement has largely been negotiated” with Iran.

He also confirmed the Strait of Hormuz would remain open to facilitate oil and gas deliveries globally, despite tensions.

Meanwhile, Iranian Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei tweeted several messages early Tuesday filled with anti-American sentiments, issuing threats against U.S. military bases and praising the “#weapon_of_AllahuAkbar.”

“It was with the [#weapon_of_AllahuAkbar] that the Muslim nation of Iran severed the greedy and arrogant United States from our country and eradicated Zionist influence,” Khamenei tweeted, asserting this “weapon” helped Iran resist U.S. aggression.

Khamenei further claimed that Gulf countries would no longer support U.S. military bases in the region.

“What is certain is that the nations and lands of the region will no longer serve as shields for U.S. bases,” he stated.

“The United States will no longer have a secure base for its mischief in West Asia,” he added, emphasizing that messages of “Down with America” and “Down with Israel” would resonate strongly among the youth and oppressed communities globally.
