Governor JB Pritzker (D-IL) on Tuesday said CNN's “lead” was something of an early act of the Trump administration's actions as Adolf Hitler, who went from German prime minister to Nazi dictator.
“We're talking about the death of the Constitutional Republic. It happened in Germany in 1933, 1934, and that we're in power in Washington, which today ignores court orders,” Pretzker said. I'm looking at today. I can't do this. They're going ahead and doing it anyway. The question is, where does it stop? The courts don't have the ability to enforce the order. And The President is supposed to follow them, but he is not. So this is just a small part of the very long story developed over the past six weeks of ignorance of constitutional norms.”

“So I really think we need to wake up to what's going on in Washington. Based on my own experience, I felt like I was leading the construction of the Holocaust Museum. I'm going to open that museum,” Pretzker said. I worked with Holocaust survivors for 10 years. I know what happened every day, it almost leads to the Holocaust. And I suggest that that is exactly where we go. I haven't, but I know what happened with the death of German democracy in my early 30s. It could happen in the US.”
