Middle East Tensions Rise Amid Trump’s Peace Initiative

New York, New York – As President Donald Trump’s new peace initiative was presented at the United Nations, Israel conducted a significant strike in Yemen, hitting locations over 2,000 kilometers from home. This operation underscores the worsening situation in the Middle East, even as diplomatic efforts unfold in New York.

This week, Trump revealed a 21-point plan aimed at resolving the Gaza conflict during a gathering with Arab leaders at the UN General Assembly. A White House official mentioned to Fox News Digital that “the president highlighted his eagerness to swiftly end the fighting in Gaza,” summarizing the U.S. strategy for the region.

“Foreign partners generally agree that President Trump is uniquely positioned to halt the Gaza conflict and expressed optimism about collaborating with special envoys to explore his proposals, while Americans remain engaged with Israeli counterparts,” the White House officials stated.

During the meeting, Arab leaders urged Trump to confirm that he would prevent Israel from expanding its presence in the West Bank, describing the dialogue as “productive.”

France’s Stance on Palestinian Recognition

In related discussions at the Concordia Annual Summit in New York, U.S. envoy Steve Witkov characterized the meetings with officials from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Indonesia, and Pakistan as “very productive.”

“We introduced what we’ve termed the Trump 21 Points Plan for Peace in the Middle East,” said Witkov. “I believe we’re addressing both Israeli and regional concerns.”

Palestinian Authority’s Response Following Visa Issues

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas also delivered a recorded address at the UN General Assembly, following his entry ban from the U.S. “We have signaled our willingness to work with President Donald Trump, Saudi Arabia, France, and the United Nations, aiming for a pathway to peace and collaboration,” Abbas stated.

He emphasized that while the Palestinian Authority is prepared to assume control in Gaza, Hamas must disarm first. “A new era of freedom will arrive, and the Palestinian flag will soar high as a representation of our liberty from oppression,” he declared, further asserting, “Palestine is ours, with Jerusalem being our cherished capital. We will not abandon our homeland.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu remarked, “We’ll have multiple meetings with President Trump in Washington before he speaks at the UNGA on Friday, discussing the remarkable opportunities our achievements have brought us.”

Meanwhile, despite Trump’s push for peace, Israel intensified its operations against Iranian-backed militias. The IDF reported on Thursday that a series of strikes targeted various locations in Yemen. This came just a day after a significant attack injured 24 people in Eilat.

Reports emerging from Saudi Arabia and Israeli media indicated over ten strikes against Houthi addresses, command centers, and military installations. Israeli officials claim that more than 50 militants have lost their lives in these operations. The IDF noted this as the 15th strike in Yemen since the onset of the conflict.

Israeli Defense Minister’s Comments on the Recent Strikes

Israeli Defense Minister Katz described the operations under the codename “package delivered” as a substantial blow to the Houthi regime. “We targeted many critical sites in Sanaa, eliminating numerous operatives and destroying drone stockpiles and weaponry,” Katz stated, adding, “As we promised, those who harm us will suffer even greater repercussions.”
