White House Looks Into Scientists’ Deaths and Disappearances, Lawmakers Urge FBI Action
The White House is currently investigating a string of mysterious deaths and disappearances involving ten highly qualified scientists since 2023. Representative Eric Burlison, part of the House Oversight Committee, is pressing for a thorough FBI investigation. Concerns have arisen over national security, particularly since these scientists were engaged in significant nuclear and space research, with some vanishing under unclear circumstances.
Since 2022, at least eleven scientists have died or gone missing, many linked to the fields of nuclear science, space research, and even UFO investigations.
Among those listed are: Michael David Hicks, aged 59; Frank Maiwald, 61; Nuno Loureiro, 47; Jason Thomas, 45; Amy Eskridge, 34; and Karl Grillmare, 47. Their passing occurred between 2023 and 2026, all having significant roles in critical scientific endeavors.
The circumstances surrounding the deaths of Hicks and Maiwald are still unclear. Meanwhile, Freddie Snyder, age 29, has been charged with murder following Grillmare’s shooting outside his residence on February 16, 2026.
The enigmas surrounding the scientists’ fates have drawn attention, with one expert indicating they might have been targeted for their expertise or possibly forced into hiding for their own safety.
In detail, Fryde was found shot in Massachusetts on December 15, 2025, and related to a mass shooting at Brown University. Thomas, a pharmaceutical executive, disappeared in December 2025 and was found in Lake Quanapowitt three months later. Eskridge, a researcher in Huntsville, Alabama, died from self-inflicted gunshot wounds in June 2022.
Notably, retired Air Force General William Neil McCasland, aged 68, vanished under suspicious circumstances, while other missing scientists include Monica Reza, who went hiking in California and was reported missing, and Steven Garcia, who disappeared after leaving his home with just a handgun.
It’s intriguing, yet disconcerting, that these individuals don’t appear to be connected by work or shared research, raising speculation about more sinister motives behind their disappearances.
Dr. Stephen Greer, a UFO researcher, suggested that some scientists may have gone missing due to sensitive investigations in the federal government. He postulated that they could be targets of transnational criminal organizations aiming to keep critical research under wraps.
With rising concern around the issue, President Donald Trump has promised to look into the mysterious cases of these scientists. “I really hope it’s random,” he mentioned to reporters after a meeting on the topic, “but I’m hopeful we’ll know more in the coming week and a half.”
Moreover, the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) confirmed it is also looking into the reports surrounding these scientists.
Dr. Greer elaborated that the government must do more to protect whistleblowers who are trying to figure out the causes behind these strange occurrences, describing the situation as alarming. “If it feels like a plot from a James Bond film, it’s not just a coincidence,” he stated. “We’ve got brave people coming forward, and the government hasn’t sufficiently protected them.”
