Former President Donald Trump has asked for his conviction in the so-called “hush money” case to be overturned, following a recent Supreme Court decision that granted him immunity for his official duties as president.

In a post on Truth Social on Monday, President Trump hailed the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision, calling it “a major victory for our Constitution and democracy.”
Meanwhile, a Biden campaign official dramatized the Supreme Court’s decision as giving the former Republican president “the keys to dictatorship.” Biden also blasted the court’s 6-3 decision, which will further delay Trump’s lawsuit seeking to overturn the 2020 federal election.
“The man who sent that mob into the United States Capitol can be convicted for what happened that day, and the American people deserve answers in a court of law before the upcoming election,” Biden said. “The American people deserve to know what happened on January 6th before they are asked to vote again this year, but today’s ruling makes that highly unlikely. This is a terrible disservice to the American people.”
