Trump Reveals Capture of Nicolás Maduro During Major Assault on Venezuela

U.S. Military Action Against Venezuela

President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social early Saturday that U.S. military forces had captured Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro during a significant operation targeting Venezuela’s leadership.

Trump stated, “The United States has successfully launched a major attack on Venezuela and its leader, President Nicolas Maduro, who was captured and exiled along with his wife.” He mentioned that the operation was coordinated with U.S. law enforcement and promised more details to come. A press conference is scheduled for 11 a.m. today at Mar-a-Lago.

On Christmas Eve, Maduro had warned, “If he plays tough, this will be the last time he plays tough.”

Reports from the Associated Press indicated multiple explosions and sightings of low-flying aircraft in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela. Maduro, who has faced pressure from the Trump administration to resign, has accused the U.S. of orchestrating attacks throughout the country.

According to CBS News, the U.S. Army’s elite special forces, Delta Force, conducted the operation. This incident marks a heightened military presence in the region, following recent naval deployments, the seizure of two oil tankers, and assaults on around 30 vessels suspected of transporting drugs to the U.S.

Prior to the reported explosion, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) had restricted U.S. commercial flights from entering Venezuelan airspace due to ongoing military activities.

This is breaking news and will be updated as more information becomes available.
