Trump reveals he’s a ‘fan’ of comic Shane Gillis, says he’s ‘on our side’ after Super Bowl meeting

President Trump is a “fan” of stand-up comic Shane Gillis and believes he will be on the “side” after the pair met at the Super Bowl earlier this month.

“Well, he's very good… I mean, on our part, right?” Trump asked Domenek, “No doubt.”

“I like him, I like everyone on my side. You know, I'm old-fashioned like that. I like those people,” the president continued.

“And we have a lot of people. There are more people than everyone understands.”

Gillis, who has been gaining fame since late-night sketch shows dropped him, recently met Trump briefly – he often jokes about his comedies – at Super Bowl Ricks in New Orleans.

He revealed in a recent episode of his podcast, “The Secret Podcast of Matt and Shane,” that he and country music star Zach Bryan have been invited to the President's Suite.

“I finally had that moment – a quick handshake,” Gillis said of his quick greeting with the president, adding that he was “sure that Trump doesn't know who I am.”

“His sons certainly do,” he added.

Domenek, whose father is Puerto Rican, said he was not mad when Roast Comic Tony Hinchcliffe joked about Puerto Rico during a Trump campaign rally at Madison Square Garden in October.

The podcaster's class jab sparked outrage from the Democrats and Puerto Rican communities on the final day before the 2024 election.

“The sad part about that was that it turned out to be nothing, and I didn't think it would get bigger, but they did that big of a thing,” Trump said.

“They were desperate, but they took that joke. But the big thing was that they sold out 10 Madison Square Gardens,” he added.
