Trump says Boeing should bring back ‘beautiful’ 757

Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday insisted on the return of the “beautiful” 757 after Boeing grounded nearly 200 of its 737 Max 9 planes over the weekend after their emergency door panels flew off.

“Boeing should bring back the 757, which is the most beautiful and most maneuverable airplane ever produced by Boeing (from a pilot's point of view!).” President Trump posts on his truth social site. “Stop this crazy expansion of the 737, the ugliest-looking plane in the air.”

“All you get is the 737 Max. So what happened? It seems cursed! Back to the greatest 'praying mantis' of all,” he added. “Hooray!”

Boeing's stock price has fallen since the Jan. 5 crash that terrified passengers. Shortly after takeoff from an airport in Portland, Oregon, the emergency door panel of a Max 9 plane came off at an altitude of 16,000 feet, leaving a large hole in the side of the plane.

The Federal Aviation Administration on Saturday ordered the temporary grounding of about 171 Boeing aircraft operated by U.S. airlines.

Alaska Airlines and United Airlines, which operated the Boeing planes during the flight, separately reported finding loose parts in some door panels of the Max 9 jets.

Federal investigators with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) said they were looking into whether bolts were installed on the plane's door before takeoff.

Boeing, which has had problems with various planes over the years, promised to “cooperate in addressing any findings” during the investigation.

The former president has long been a fan of the 757. He currently owns his jet, a VIP Boeing 757 private.

His adult son, Eric Trump, I posted a video Later that year, the company announced it had lost $660 million on a contract with President Trump to build Air Force One, which he now dubbed “Trump Force One.”

During September, President Trump criticizes The U.S. Air Force and Lockheed Martin teamed up after the wreckage of an F-35 went missing. At the time, he suggested that Boeing abandon its 737s and instead opt for “an updated, fast, beautiful and sophisticated 757 called the Praying Mantis.”

“It's the plane that commercial pilots like to fly. If they had listened to me all these years, we wouldn't have had the disaster known as the 737 MAX. These two terrible tragedies would never have happened.” Trump posted on Truth Social at the time, referring to Boeing grounding its planes worldwide following two accidents.

“As the saying goes, 'Trump was right about everything,'” he added. “thank you!!!”
