Trump says drones have been spotted over Bedminster, vows to figure out mystery sightings when he takes office

President-elect Donald Trump said Thursday that numerous drones were seen over a golf course in Bedminster, New Jersey, and promised to release a report on the mysterious flying objects as soon as he takes office.

“They're often outpacing Bedminster,” President Trump said of the spike in sightings of possible drones that alarmed New Jersey residents and lawmakers last month.

“I'm going to do a report on drones in the first day or so of this administration, because I think it's ridiculous that they're not talking about what's going on with drones,” the president-elect vowed at a Republican governors event.・At A Lago.

The 78-year-old president noted that several governors who attended the meeting in Palm Beach, Florida, also reported seeing drones in their states and wanted answers.

“We have the largest naval base in the world at Quantico,” Republican Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, who was seated next to Trump at the event, told reporters. “And we also [Navy SEAL] It has a team and a huge national security infrastructure, and now for the second year in a row there have been drone intrusions into secure airspace. ”

“And I still don't know why. And I think that's absolutely unacceptable,” Youngkin added.

Republican Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry also detailed suspicious drone activity over a sensitive nuclear facility in the state that occurred around the same time that an ISIS terrorist drove a truck into a crowd in New Orleans.

“While we were responding to the terrorist attack in New Orleans, we flew a drone over a nuclear reactor in Louisiana and turned its attention to the world. [Federal Aviation Administration]” Landry said. “We have been asking the FAA to give states the ability to mitigate these drones.”

“This is sitting on a bureaucrat's desk, but it's real,” the governor fumed.

Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin said suspicious drone activity has been observed near sensitive locations in Virginia.

The FBI announced that it has investigated approximately 5,000 reports of drone sightings from the public and has determined that approximately 100 of them are reliable.

Federal authorities maintain that drones pose no threat to national security or the public at large, but they have not provided concrete answers about the origin and purpose of the objects involved in many of the most alarming incidents.

“They don't want to talk about it, and no one knows why,” Trump said of the Biden administration's response to the drone surge.

“Hopefully not the enemy, but we'll find out on the 21st,” the president-elect said, referring to the day after the Jan. 20 inauguration.

“We'll have a little time until the inauguration, but we'll let you know right after that. We'll tell you exactly what they know, and it's very strange that they won't talk about it.” he added.
