Trump sends Valentine’s Day message to Melania centered on his criminal cases

Former President Trump on Wednesday thanked former First Lady Melania Trump for her support through various criminal cases and wished him a Happy Valentine’s Day.

In a campaign email sent Wednesday morning, President Trump offered a “letter” with the subject line, “We love you, Melania!”

“Dear Melania, I love you. Through every indictment, every arrest, every witch hunt, you never left my side,” he wrote in a message. “You have always supported me in every way. Without your guidance, kindness and warmth, I would not be the person I am today..

“You will always mean so much to me, Melania! With love from your husband, Donald J. Trump,” the former president concluded.

The former president faces 91 felonies in four federal and state indictments, all of which he calls a political “witch hunt” to prevent him from running for re-election in November.

Trump’s Republican primary challenger, Nikki Haley, personally delivered a Valentine’s Day message to the former president.

“Roses are red, violets are blue, I love dictators, and they love me too. Happy Valentine’s Day from Donald Trump to dictators around the world!” Haley’s presidential campaign issued an emailed statement mocking the former president.

“For years, Mr. Trump has professed his love for the world’s most brutal dictators and admired their strength and leadership,” the statement said.

The campaign also listed a series of statements by President Trump expressing friendship and love for some foreign dictators.

One example the campaign pointed to was Trump’s claim in 2019 that he received about six letters from North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

“He wrote me a beautiful letter. It’s a beautiful letter,” Trump said at a rally in West Virginia in 2019. “We fell in love.”

Haley has repeatedly criticized President Trump’s apparently friendly stance toward foreign leaders, including Kim and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Nationally, Trump has a 61.4-point lead over Haley, and in Haley’s home state of South Carolina, she has a 32.7-point lead, according to The Hill/Decision Desk’s national polling index. I’m wearing it.
