Trump shooter Thomas Crooks’ online search history included ‘depressive disorder,’ Trump, Biden, DNC

The shooter at the Trump rally was reportedly seeking help for “severe depression” before he nearly killed the former president, FBI Director Chris Wray reportedly told Congress.

Investigators found medical records on Thomas Matthew Crooks’ phone along with dates and times for the Democratic and Republican national conventions and photos of Presidents Trump and Biden. The New York Times.

The Times reported that Crooks was close to his parents, both of whom are counselors, but that they were not involved in his daily life.

Wray revealed the investigators’ findings at a congressional hearing on Wednesday, saying the FBI conducted 200 interviews and reviewed 14,000 images stored on Crooks’ phone.

Despite an extensive investigation, there is still no clear motive for the assassination attempt that took place Saturday in Butler, Pennsylvania, Wray told lawmakers at a hearing on Wednesday.

Ray reportedly said Crooks had visited the rally site at least once before Saturday’s shooting.

Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) told Fox News Digital he thinks it’s “bullshit.”

“I don’t believe they have anything,” Burchett said. “I don’t trust this administration. If they don’t want conspiracy theories, they need to act fast and answer the tough questions.”

Calls are growing for Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle to resign following the assassination attempt on President Trump.

The Oversight Committee issued a subpoena to Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, who has agreed to comply. A hearing is scheduled for July 22.

“The American people want and are entitled to an explanation from Director Cheatle for the assassination attempt on President Trump and the egregious Secret Service failures,” the oversight committee said in a post on X shortly before 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The FBI declined to comment on potential motive theories, whether it had removed any motives from the list or whether it had responded to the lawmakers’ comments.

Corey Comperatore, 50, a father of two and former fire chief, was killed while shielding his family during Saturday’s shooting.

David Duch, 57, and James Copenhaver, 74, were seriously injured and are currently recovering in hospital.

Secret Service snipers “neutralized” Crooks, who was positioned on a rooftop overlooking the rally, about 150 yards from where Trump was speaking.

The details of how Crooks got onto the roof of a building and fired multiple shots remain under investigation, with the Secret Service and local police working together to determine responsibility.

Crooks would have turned 21 in September and had no criminal or traffic offenses on his record.
