He mentioned that while many doctors were pessimistic about Wolf’s chances, his mother remained incredibly optimistic. “It would be amazing if he survived. It’s almost a miracle,” Trump added, reflecting on her resilience.
Furthermore, Trump invited the families of the fallen National Guard members to the White House as a gesture of respect and remembrance.

West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrissey later clarified that Wolf’s condition had improved from critical to serious, indicating some positive developments as reported by family members and friends.
Morrissey shared a heartening detail: Wolf was responsive enough to give a “thumbs up” when asked by a nurse, indicating a small but significant step in his recovery. Wolf’s mother, Melody, is described as a “very positive force,” and she and her husband Jason are asking the public to keep them in their thoughts and prayers.
President Trump assured the families that they are honored and, whether Wolf fully recovers or not, they will commemorate both Sarah and Andrew for their sacrifices.
The suspect behind this tragic incident is 29-year-old Rahmanullah Rakanwal, an Afghan national, who faces serious charges including first-degree murder and assault. The Justice Department plans to pursue the death penalty in this case.
