Trump takes Coachella stage to pitch deep-blue California voters

Former President Donald Trump took to the stage Saturday at a large rally in deep-blue Coachella, California, calling the state a “lost paradise” because of Democratic politicians such as Vice President Kamala Harris. .

“The radical left Democrats destroyed this nation, but we're going to save it. We're going to make it better than ever,” Trump said at an outdoor rally in 100-degree heat. He spoke to many supporters who endured.

“We will not allow [Harris] Destroy our country like she did to San Francisco,” President Trump said to cheers.

“It's a lost paradise, but we will get it back,” President Trump said, adding, “Don't worry. We will get it back.” It'll happen soon. ”

Then he began waxing poetic about the great heights that California once represented.

“Through generations of American history, California has been a pioneer of what our country aspires to be,” President Trump said. “We had everything. We had the weather. We had water. The state had the best schools, the safest communities, and a booming middle class.

“But all of that was eradicated by the very policies that Kamala Harris is now trying to impose on America,” Trump added.

“Today, California has the highest inflation, the highest taxes, the highest gas prices, the highest cost of living, the most regulation, the highest utility costs, the most homelessness, the most crime, the most corruption, the most “Other than that, I think we're doing very well,” Trump added.

The Republican candidate labeled Harris a radical and slammed her recent media gaffes.

Harris said on The View on Tuesday that she has no intention of changing the Biden administration's decisions over the past four years. At his rallies, President Trump plays an edited video splicing Harris's comments with news clips listing the administration's policy failures, including soaring housing prices and the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan.

“Kamala Harris got you into this mess, and only Trump can get you out of it. We're going to get you out of it,” the former president said.

President Trump also took aim at two of his other favorite targets in California, Governor Gavin Newsom and Representative Adam Schiff.

The 45th president nicknamed Newsom “Gavin Newscome” and labeled him “the worst governor in the country.”

President Trump also called Schiff, a California congressman and current Senate candidate, “a really despicable person” and accused him of being in charge of the Russia collusion investigation that Schiff spearheaded in Congress.

The last time a Republican presidential candidate won California was in 1988, when then-Vice President George H.W. Bush took over the mantle from former California Governor Ronald Reagan.

Trump campaigned in the Golden State, even though it is far from a battleground state. He won only 34% California Voting in the 2020 Presidential Election Voter turnout in 2016 was 31%.

“With your vote, we will act urgently and swiftly to save America and save Californians from Kamala Harris' atrocious failure,” Trump said.
