Trump: The IAEA must check Pickaxe Mountain before any further agreements, but Iran never honors its commitments.

Trump Discusses Iran Nuclear Deal on Hugh Hewitt Show

During an appearance on Monday’s “Hugh Hewitt Show,” President Donald Trump emphasized the need for IAEA inspectors to examine Pickaxe Mountain before any new agreements are established. He pointed out that the Iranian government has consistently failed to uphold deals, remarking, “They make deals only to break them. They’re extremely untrustworthy.”

Hewitt brought up that Iran had violated ceasefires previously, including one just last weekend. He noted the destruction of three nuclear facilities and speculated about a fourth at Mount Pickaxe, asking whether Trump would require IAEA inspectors to investigate deep tunnels there for potential weapons before moving forward with a deal.

Trump affirmed this necessity, stating, “Of course. They don’t have anything hidden because we have extensive surveillance, like with the Space Force. But that location could potentially be a point of concern.” He suggested that they are keeping a vigilant eye on the situation.

He continued, “It’s on our radar. We’re monitoring it closely. They’ve not made significant progress on nuclear matters. Whenever we get new information, it ends badly for them. They tend to shy away from these discussions, but we might need to take action there soon.”

Hewitt then remarked that the Iranian regime, described as fanatical, would likely never comply and questioned whether the regime needed to be removed within 30 months.

Trump responded, “I think they are certainly not the most reasonable people. We have previously overthrown their government. We’ve done it multiple times. Yesterday, it seemed like we had a breakthrough, but suddenly everything fell apart. They’re unpredictable. They are notorious for being deal-breakers. And honestly, if they had nuclear weapons, they would use them immediately.”

He explained that past agreements had been treated like tests, adding, “They never honored the agreement. We’ve repeatedly closed these deals, and they’ve consistently backtracked. They’re recognized for this behavior.”

In conclusion, Trump stated, “We will eliminate the threat from Pickaxe.”
