RFK Wants Attention: Kurtz
On “The Story,” MediaBuzz host Howard Kurtz explained why Vice President Harris should do an interview with Fox News and responded to former presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s endorsement of former President Trump.
A supporter of former President Donald Trump and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. spoke out in support of Kennedy’s endorsement of former President Trump and the 2024 Republican presidential nominee, saying the two men have “heart.”
Fox News Digital reported on Friday that he was speaking to supporters at a Trump campaign rally in Glendale, Arizona. The rally came just hours after Trump invited Kennedy, a former independent candidate and scion of American politics, onto the stage to urge voters to stop campaigning and cast their ballots in battleground states for Trump Vance.
“If John is serious about making this country better for everyone, I think it makes sense for him to reach out and communicate with people who want to make this country better,” one Trump supporter said.
“As long as we try to find space to make allies for people who disagree with us, I think that’s going to be big,” the source said.

Kennedy, who ran on the slogan “Make America Healthy Again,” campaigned on ending chronic disease in the United States and reforming the food system.
“I think there’s a lot of cultural overlap between people who want to live a healthy lifestyle, eat right, avoid chronic disease and find healthy ways to stay healthy,” one Trump supporter said of the MAGA and RFK Jr. campaigns.
Another Trump supporter, a woman from San Francisco who recently moved to Arizona, said she thought Kennedy’s endorsement was “important.”
“All of the things that Trump has been vocal about over the last few years are very important to his campaign because I think a lot of Americans, myself included, are still pretty angry about Operation Warp Speed and him not standing up to big pharma,” she said.
President Trump’s Operation Warp Speed was a project to expedite the production and distribution of a COVID-19 vaccine. Many Republicans and conservatives have criticized the program, saying it rushed the vaccine without proper testing, resulting in high vaccine injury rates. They also protested against mandatory vaccination.
Pete and Erin, a couple originally from California who recently moved to the Grand Canyon State, said Kennedy’s message highlights the problem with government bureaucracy.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. blasted “the mainstream media in league with the Democratic National Committee” and accused them of orchestrating Harris’ rise.

“They both have a hold on my heart,” Erin said of Trump and Kennedy. “They tell the truth. They don’t lie. They don’t need Hollywood glamour. I couldn’t care less what people in Hollywood have to say… They’re just wolves in sheep’s clothing.”
“What he said was, [the] The FDA, that’s just another example of the bloated bureaucracy within our government,” Pete said.
Kennedy has been a critic of the Food and Drug Administration, telling host Shannon Bream on “Fox News Sunday” that if he were to take office, he would “shift the focus and end the corruption.”
“Right now, 75 percent of the FDA’s budget comes from pharmaceutical companies. That’s a perverse incentive,” he said.
Pete and Erin said a big part of why they support Trump Vance is his stance on China and the border. They lost their son to fentanyl, which authorities believe is manufactured in China and Mexico and smuggled directly into the U.S.

The couple lamented that the fentanyl crisis, the leading cause of death among Americans ages 18 to 49, was not mentioned at last week’s Democratic National Convention.
“For them to say nothing is just insulting,” Erin said.

Though this was not emphasized at the Chicago convention, the Democratic platform released last week stated that the next Democratic administration will “pressure Congress to provide the resources and authority needed to secure our border.”
“This includes increasing the number of Border Patrol agents, immigration judges and asylum officers; state-of-the-art testing equipment to detect and stop the distribution of fentanyl; and funding for cities and states that provide refuge to migrants,” the report said.
