Trump vents frustration with Boeing over Air Force One delays

President Trump has complained that Boeing has delayed delivering a new air force to one jet, telling the Republican governor he is “a little tired.”

“I bought an airplane. It's really two planes, one air force. If Boeing is building damn things now, that would be fine too. We don't build the way we used to. Trump is a Republican governor. He said at the association's reception.

“I placed my order about six years ago. They're still waiting. I'm getting a little bored,” Trump added.

It marked the second day in a row when Trump complained about the slow delivery of the company's presidential plane. Trump was in the Air Force late Wednesday and told reporters he was “not happy with Boeing.”

The president said he would not consider purchasing jets from Airbus, but he acknowledged that the administration is considering alternatives, including purchasing planes from other countries.

New York Times Reported on Wednesday Trump has instructed billionaire ally Elon Musk to explore options to drive Boeing faster, including potentially relaxing security standards for those working on planes.

Trump negotiated a nearly $4 billion deal with Boeing during his first term, bringing the rise of changes to the exterior design of the iconic plane. But Boeing is at least three years behind in providing jets, with the project exceeding the budget of over $2 billion.
