Trump Issues Warning to Hamas
On Thursday, President Donald Trump delivered a forceful statement aimed at Hamas, threatening to “come in and kill” the group if their violent actions in Gaza do not cease. In a particularly intense post, he stated, “It wasn’t a deal, but if Hamas keeps killing people in Gaza, we have no choice but to move in and eliminate them. Thank you for considering this matter!”
This warning follows disturbing footage showing Hamas publicly executing adversaries in the central square of Gaza City, which starkly contrasts with Trump’s earlier peace initiative.
Hamas Reasserts Control
Residents of Gaza had previously shared with various sources that Hamas fighters are once again active on the streets, reasserting their dominance and presenting ultimatums. Interestingly, there was a recent surrender where one individual sought clemency regarding previous actions against the group.
Moreover, Hamas has failed to deliver on its promise to return all deceased hostages to Israel. Families have described the ongoing situation as “torturous,” with uncertainty hanging over their loved ones’ fates.
Hostage Situation Complicates Tensions
One deeply affected individual, Orna Neutra, mother of Israeli Defense Force Captain Omer Neutra, shared her anguish on “Fox & Friends.” She expressed how devastating it is to wait for news of her son’s body. “We thought we would be receiving him on Monday. But as days passed, we learned that only four hostages were freed, and he wasn’t among them, which was shocking,” she said.
Omer is one of two Americans whose remains have yet to be returned by Hamas as part of ongoing peace negotiations.
A Complex Peace?
Orna noted that the terror group hasn’t provided any assurances regarding her son’s release, continuing to add to the family’s torment. “We endure sleepless nights because those returning to Israel usually come back after midnight and aren’t identified until the early morning hours. Each time we learn he’s not among them, it’s heartbreaking. Now Hamas claims they can’t release anyone else.”
Over the weekend, all surviving hostages were returned to Israel.
