Trump warns of legal action against New York Magazine if it publishes negative story about his health

Trump Threatens Legal Action over Health Coverage

President Donald Trump mentioned to a reporter from New York Magazine that he would “sue” if the magazine published an unfavorable story about his health, as reported in an article released on Monday.

In this piece titled “‘The Superhuman President’: An honest attempt to ascertain the truth about Donald Trump’s health,” correspondent Ben Tellis joined Trump, White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt, his personal physician Capt. Sean Barbabella, and a physician’s assistant, Col. James Jones, for a discussion in the Oval Office regarding the president’s health.

“Let’s sit down for a few minutes,” Trump stated. He added, “I don’t want to waste time on this, but if you’re going to write a bad article about my health, I’m going to sue New York Magazine. Maybe in two years, three, or five years, when nobody cares anymore, you can write that article. Now, sit down.”

The article also touched on recent news about bruises on Trump’s hands and other concerns about his well-being.

The piece quoted Eric Trump and various administration officials praising the president’s health. White House communications director Stephen Chan noted, “When he signed the Epstein Transparency Act, he was here until I think it was 9:50 or 9:45. The next day, he was here until 9:30. I hate to admit it, but I was exhausted by the time I got to work, and I was exhausted by the end of my shift from keeping up with the president.”

Trump reportedly asked the doctors present about his health. According to the article, he inquired, “Is my health perfect?” to which Jones replied, “You are in very good health, Doctor.”

The White House did not provide a response to Fox News Digital’s request for comments.

Leavitt had previously issued similar warnings to CBS News after Trump sat down with anchor Tony Dokoupil for an interview. The comments indicated a request for Leavitt not to take credit on behalf of the president.

Trump has a history of litigation, having previously sued CBS News over a “60 Minutes” piece involving former Vice President Kamala Harris, claiming that the edited footage constituted election interference.
