It appears that President Donald Trump is mulling over a plan that would involve taking control of Gaza for a decade and relocating two million Palestinians, offering $5,000 each while the region is reimagined as a technology hub.
According to a report by the Washington Post on Sunday:
A 38-page document revealed by the Washington Post outlines a proposal for the temporary relocation of Gaza’s entire population.
Landowners would receive digital tokens from a trust in exchange for redevelopment rights, which could either help fund their new lives elsewhere or be redeemed for six to eight new “AI-powered apartments” in a smart city set to be developed in Gaza. Those opting to relocate would receive $5,000 in cash, along with subsidies intended to cover four years of rent and one year of food.

Dubbed the reconstruction of Gaza or the great trust, this concept has been crafted by some of the same Israelis involved with the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), backed by the US and Israel. The financial strategies were developed by a team previously associated with the Boston Consulting Group.
The prospectus is reminiscent of an earlier “Gaza 2035” proposal that surfaced in May 2024. Instead of being a barrier to Iranian influence, it aims to position Gaza as a trade and technology center along the India-Middle Eastern European Corridor, as proposed by Trump.
“Gaza will evolve into a Mediterranean hub for manufacturing, trade, data, and tourism, leveraging its strategic locations, markets (like Europe and the GCC), resources, and the youthful workforce, all backed by Israeli technology and investments from the GCC,” the document optimistically asserts.
As per this plan, current Gaza residents would be relocated, with the promise of permanent housing becoming available in a decade. The proposal estimates that 25% of Gazans will migrate while 75% are expected to leave permanently.
