Trump won’t appear in Oregon voters’ pamphlet — here’s why

Officials say former President Donald Trump will not appear in voter pamphlets mailed across Oregon because the deadline for 2024 Republican candidates to submit statements included in the information guide has passed, officials said.

Mr. Trump, along with his vice presidential candidate, Ohio Sen. Become one of the presidential candidates. According to reports, there are 3 million voters.

“Please note that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and running mate J.D. Vance will not be featured in the upcoming November 2024 general election voter pamphlet,” Jackson County Clerk Christine Walker wrote. Please do so.” According to the Rogue Valley Times.

“The campaign has refused to submit its candidate statement, along with the required filing fee, by the filing deadline with the Oregon Secretary of State.”

Trump's absence caused a stir on social media, with some falsely claiming it was a form of election interference.

Oregon Secretary of State Spokesperson told oreonlive.com The office reached out to the Trump campaign multiple times before the Aug. 27 deadline for inclusion in the pamphlet, but received no response.

The pamphlet lists each candidate's current position, work, and educational background, followed by a short statement about their candidacy. Brochures are also posted online.

Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, Green Party candidate Jill Stein, Libertarian candidate Chase Oliver, and independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy, who withdrew from the race, are also listed in the booklet.

Progressive Party candidate Cornel West and Constitution Party candidate Randall Terry were also not included in the guide, along with President Trump.

Trump, who lost Oregon in 2016 and 2020, was similarly absent from a pamphlet for primary voters earlier this year, according to the Oregon Capital Chronicle.

An email to the Oregon Secretary of State was not returned Thursday night. An email sent to the Trump campaign also went unanswered.
